Firms in the accounting industry are increasingly recognising the benefits of diversified service offerings in terms of securing long-term clients and futureproofing their business. This award recognises the firm in the accounting industry in Australia that most effectively diversified its service offering to increase total revenue in the 2019 calendar year. Specifically, the award recognises firms offering services complementary to accounting, such as risk advice, mortgage and finance broking, financial planning, SMSF advice and legal services.

Based on business growth metrics as well as support and servicing, the award considers the activities, strategies and actions of the firm in terms of driving increased revenue through diversification within the business.


ELIGIBILITY


To qualify for this category, entrants must:

  • Operate as a multi-service or multi-disciplinary firm offering two or more distinct professional services (e.g., consulting, legal, financial, marketing, technology, HR, etc.).
  • Have been in operation for at least 24 months as a registered business.
  • Show clear evidence of integration between service lines that deliver added value to clients.
  • Be able to provide verifiable client outcomes, success stories, or case studies from the last 12–24 months.
  • Be open to both self-nominations and third-party nominations.




QUALITATIVE CRITERIA


  • Outline the services you currently offer aside from core accounting services. 
  • What new services did you add to your offering in last 12 months
  • Demonstrate how adding new and diversified services has driven business growth in last 12 months.
  • Highlight how integrated and diversified services have strengthened established relationships and generated additional revenue.




METRICS


Metrics for Evaluation

Entrants will be evaluated based on measurable results and evidence of excellence across key performance areas. Firms must demonstrate consistent service excellence and impact through quality, innovation, and the ability to deliver value via integrated, multi-service solutions. Business growth and diversification will be assessed through revenue performance, new service introductions, and success in cross-selling. Client outcomes and satisfaction will consider measurable results such as retention rates, testimonials, and case studies showcasing positive impact and ROI. Operational efficiency and collaboration will focus on internal systems that ensure seamless service delivery, effective teamwork, and knowledge sharing across departments. Finally, innovation and market leadership will recognize the use of emerging technologies, creative problem-solving, and achievements that position the firm as an industry leader. Overall, the evaluation highlights firms that combine strategic growth, operational excellence, and client-centric innovation to deliver sustainable success across multiple service lines.
